How To Cook Sticky Rice in Your Rice Cooker

That’s right! You heard that…you can cook sticky rice the new way if you don’t have a traditional sticky rice basket. I have a traditional rice steamer basket and pot that goes with it, but I personally find that it’s faster to use my rice cooker that comes with a steam feature option. I have the Aroma brand.

Cook time: 20 min - 30 min depending on rice cooker model

Ingredients:
2 - 3 cups Koda Farms Premium Sweet Rice
Water

Steps:
1) Take the inner pot and pour sticky rice grain inside. Fill with warm water, enough barely touching the top of the rice. Figure 1:1 ratio. Don’t add more water to fully cover like you would make regular rice. Too much water will make sticky rice too wet and mushy. We want to steam the sticky rice.

2) Place inner pot with sticky rice grain back into the rice cooker holder and close lid. Hit steam function and increase the cooking power to 18 or 19 and let it steam until you hear a beep. Enjoy your sticky rice! Store the extra sticky rice in a traditional sticky rice basket or refrigerate rice in zip lock bag. Reheat sticky rice in a safe plate and microwave within a minute. Sticky Rice will stay good for up to 2 days. After that, it gets very hard.
